Secure my quad slotA Bali ATV tour is sold by one company, run from a base owned by another and priced by a third. Here is how to read the operators behind the listings, and what to ask each one.
Editorial team, ubudatvride.click · Updated November 2, 2026 · A read of about 6 minutes
Operators in a nutshell
A quad booking usually has more than one company in it. A platform sells the ticket, an activity provider runs the experience, and a base on the ground owns the quads and the track. This site's ride shows the pattern: the listing names Ubud Trips as the activity provider and tells guests who book without transportation to meet at a base called Dadi Bali Adventure. Searches for Kuber ATV in Bali land on listings that name Kuber Bali Adventure as the base.
Other listings show only the base. The stops of one jungle ride list Gorilla ATV Adventure as the place where the quad ride happens, and that same base appears in the stops of an ATV and rafting combination and of a temple and waterfall day. A waterfalls and caves ride names Jambe Asri ATV as its base.
Why does it matter? Because the rules you meet on the day, from arrival time to the price of an upgrade, come from the base, while the cancellation line sits in the listing. A good habit is to read the listing for both: the fine print about the base, and the cancellation line, which on the site tour gives a full refund up to a day ahead.
House rules compared
| Base or ride | Arrive | Extras on site | Weather |
|---|---|---|---|
| Falls-and-caves ride | Arrive 25 to 30 minutes ahead | Independent photo vendor | Runs in the rain |
| Cave-and-falls ride | 30 minutes ahead or more | Third-party photo vendors | Late guests may move trips |
| Long-cave track | 30 minutes ahead or more | Upgrade IDR 400,000 | Runs in the rain |
| Lunch-and-jungle ride | Before 4 PM if no pickup | Odd tandem pays extra | Wet or dry |
Rules belong to each listing alone, and this site's own Gorilla Cave terms are on its booking page.
Scores need their denominators. The most reviewed jungle ride in the Ubud listings holds 6,489 reviews averaging 4.81, and the waterfalls and caves ride has 1,529 at 4.73. This site's Gorilla Cave ride has 2,202 reviews at 4.82, of which 1,985 are five-star and 33 are one-star.
Smaller operators can post bigger numbers. A value ride lists 4.96 from 25 reviews and a long-tunnel ride lists 4.63 from 36, which says little about the quality of either, because a handful of reviews can swing a score in a week. A reasonable rule of thumb is to trust the score in proportion to the count, and to read the lower stars before the five-star headline.
Platforms also differ in what they let you see. The Viator record behind this site carries a star breakdown but no review texts at our access level, so the page cannot quote a guest and does not try. Where a listing offers a rating breakdown by guide, transport and value, use it, because a single number hides which part of the day the guests liked.
Weight of evidence
Review counts as each listing shows them; a score rests on more voices where the bar is longer.
Marketing language is where operators differ most. Two listings for ATV rides with a long tunnel and waterfalls both describe a 750 meter natural cave. Another listing, a ride with a historic tunnel, describes original tunnels of 700 meters. One of those numbers may be rounded, two tracks may be different, or the operators may be describing one place; the listings do not say.
Other claims are superlatives. One jungle ride promises the longest quad bike track, and another promises the real biggest waterfall. A superlative in a listing is the operator's own claim, so treat it as colour and compare the features you can verify: the tunnel, the waterfall, the river crossings and the track time.
The honest comparison is by the features that all the listings name and the times they state. The long-tunnel rides list a duration of 1.5 hours with a 1-hour ride, while the waterfalls and caves ride lists a duration of 1 to 1.5 hours with a ride of 1 hour. This site's Gorilla Cave outing lists 2 hours in all, with lunch at the base.

Every base has its own clock. The waterfalls and caves ride wants guests there 25 to 30 minutes before the start, for registration and the safety briefing. Two long-tunnel rides ask for at least 30 minutes, and say a latecomer may be moved to the next available trip, with any waiting time becoming the guest's responsibility. Other listings in this set show the same pattern.
One of those listings spells out the consequence: registration opens before the activity starts, and a guest who arrives late in that window may be moved to the next available trip, depending on availability, with the change of schedule the guest's own responsibility. Another jungle ride, for guests who come without a pickup, says arriving late is fine as long as they get to the base before 4 PM.
Weather is easier. Several listings say the activity runs rain or shine, and the waterfalls and caves listing adds that it is often more fun in the rain, except in extreme weather for safety reasons. Expect the tracks to be muddy and wet, and expect the base to supply lockers, safety gear, towels and showers.

Arrival
Bases ask for 25 to 30 minutes before the start.
The base is also a shop. The waterfalls and caves listing says photo and video services are offered by an independent on-site vendor, optional and payable at the location. The tunnel rides add that photo and video documentation sold at the ATV location is handled by third-party vendors, and that the operator is not responsible for the results or for delayed files.
Changes at the base can cost money. A long-tunnel ride charges IDR 400,000 to upgrade a single ATV to a tandem and IDR 600,000 to change a tandem into two singles. Several jungle listings add that a tandem booking with an odd headcount means one person rides solo with an additional on-site charge.
Carry cash for these moments. A value ride tells guests to bring cash for photos, drinks or extra services and sunscreen too. Tips are a separate matter between you and the guide, and nothing in the listings sets a figure for them, so decide your own before you arrive. Check your travel insurance for adventure cover too, because Smartraveller warns against assuming it is included.2

Starting prices vary widely across the same landscape. A jungle ride with lunch starts from $22, a Gorilla Face ride with lunch from $22, this site's Gorilla Cave ride from $29, a river-track ride from $26, a waterfalls and caves ride from $39 and a long-tunnel ride from $51.
A bigger number does not prove a bigger experience. The listings above differ in whether lunch, transfers, a hot meal or a second activity are part of the price, and in how long the riding lasts, so match like with like: riding time, what is included and whether the price is for a person or for a quad. The listings do not all say, which is itself a reason to ask.
Every price on this site is a from price, and the platform's page shows the binding figure for your date and your party. Use the price chart and the calculator on these pages to see the range, and the booking page to see the number you will pay.
This site's ride is a Viator listing: 2 hours, a safety briefing and gear, single or tandem seats, and lunch at the base restaurant overlooking rice terraces. It sits in the middle of the field on price and at the top on reviews, with 2,202 of them at 4.82.
Its record is thin on the fine print other operators put in writing: arrival time, a late-arrival rule and the price of an upgrade, while age, weight and group-size terms sit on the booking page. Ask for those in a message through the booking page, and keep the answers with your confirmation.
Then compare, as the checklist on this page suggests, on the same terms: riding time, lunch, pickup, cancellation and what is charged on site. A booking you can cancel until a day before the start leaves time to ask and to decide.
